HAGNE studio by Frida Vasas
Frida is a self-taught Hungarian film photographer whose practice began on the volcanic island of Stromboli, where this unexpected journey revealed photography as both an artistic language and a form of attentive presence. Encountering the island’s raw geology and spiritual quiet, she recognized in its terrain a mirror for the inner world, and photography became a way of translating that encounter into visual form.
Her work explores the complexities of human experience through an intimate dialogue between inner states and the environments that often shape them. She is drawn to places where landscape acts as a kind of extension of the body - absorbing emotion, storing memory, and reflecting back the shifting contours of identity. Working within the poetics of fragility, presence, and transformation, she observes how natural environments, cultural inheritance, and everyday rituals imprint themselves on us, forming quiet but enduring architectures of self.
